Ohio's Tate runs Chalktober streak to 16 straight

TLDR: Ohio's Tate pushed his Chalktober streak to 16 straight wins Friday night when Washington-Purdue stayed under 67.5 by 3.5 points, on a bet he took because of a Wake Up Barstool producer's weather read.
Chalktober 14 was a Blake Snell unders bet. Tate needed Snell to give up 12 or fewer hits, runs and walks combined in the NLCS. Then Jackson Chourio took Snell deep to lead off the game, and the panic started right away.
Snell settled in fast after that. The strikeouts piled up and the Brewers stopped reaching base. The problem for LA was that its bats did nothing either, so a 1-0 deficit just hung there inning after inning while Milwaukee led the series 2-0, per the broadcast bug.
By Tate's count, Snell left the game sitting at exactly 10 hits, runs and walks, which was plenty of room under 12. That made it 14 straight. Thursday's play came after a full morning of crowdsourcing. He passed on Gavin Williams strikeouts, took Seahawks +13.5, and then had to watch Williams clear his number almost immediately while the Guardians played a day game at home.
Thursday's Guardians game was better than any bet. Williams struck out hitters all afternoon, Petey Halpin hit a go-ahead home run with a bat flip, and Cleveland beat Tampa Bay to go up 2-1 in the ALCS. Tate's dad was in the stands with Uncle Steve, and back home even the family beagle got into it.
The Seahawks covered that night for 15 in a row. Friday was supposed to be a dream Cleveland weekend. Instead the rain came, and Game 4 between the Guardians and Rays sat in limbo for hours before MLB finally called it. Tate was furious, and so was the rest of the building.
MLB moved Game 4 to Saturday night, which put Game 5 at 5 p.m. ET Sunday. That's 4 hours after the Browns and Ravens kick off at 1 in the same city, so Cleveland is getting a doubleheader whether it wanted one or not. Stephen Vogt called the delay "not ideal for either team."
The real Friday drama was in West Lafayette. On the stream the night before, Tate had been leaning toward a Washington-Purdue over. Then someone on Wake Up Barstool said the weather at Purdue was too nasty for real scoring, and he flipped to the full-game under 67.5. The skies were clear, the teams combined for 41 points before halftime, and Tate went after the producer by name.

Hey @TBob53, who is the producer on Wake Up Barstool that said the weather was so bad that Purdue / Washington can’t score 52 This is the exact moment that Under 67.5 became the Chalktober play Lot of fucking points early…. Name and number please. Feel free to post on here.
It came down to the last quarter. With 10 minutes left, Tate posted that the game could take no more than 3 more points. Washington was up 38-26, and neither team scored again. It finished at 64, 3.5 points under the line, and the celebration clips went up right away.
By the end of the night the producer had a name, and Tate was willing to forgive him, mostly.

DO YOU BELIEVE IN CHALKTOBER MIRACLES??????? Wash / Purdue Under 67.5 covers by the skin of its teeth ✅ Shoutout T Bob. Shoutout Producer Reese (moron). Shoutout to neither team scoring for the final 10 minutes!! More than halfway there! Comment you best Saturday plays below

“He who is not courageous enough to take risks will accomplish nothing in life” — Muhammad Ali Or in layman’s terms…. “Sometimes you gotta risk it for the biscuit” — Rosie O’Donnell Look, I know Chalktober was built on -1000 or greater plays. I know that because I invented Chalktober. But sometimes you need to chance going too far, or else you’ll never find out how far you can truly go. Tonight, on this historic Chalktober 16th, in which I try to go more than halfway to the finish line, I am going big (and I might go home because of it — but at least I can walk tall as a man that chased my dreams) Tonight, I am bypassing the -1000 odds requirement. Washington / Purdue Under 67.5 is the play (-970 😱) $390.52 to win $430.77

That's 16 straight and past the halfway point of the month. The weekend schedule is tough. Ohio State plays at Indiana Saturday, Guardians-Rays Game 4 is Saturday night, and Sunday has the Browns at 1 and the Guardians at 5. One bad weather report already almost killed the streak, and there are still 15 days of October left.
