Mintzy, White Sox Dave and the $400 fake ticket saga

TLDR: Mintzy sent $400 to a train buddy for White Sox ALDS tickets that never arrived, missed Game 3, then got to Game 4 through TickPick and left in the 8th.
It started on a train to Milwaukee, where Mintzy met a guy who said he had ticket hookups in Chicago. By Tuesday morning, Tate was telling everyone how that went.

The Guardians may be down 2-0 but I think I just found the edge we need If we can’t out hit the White Sox, I now think we can out smart them!! Mintzy and White Sox Dave just got taken for $400 on fake tickets 🤣🤣🤣 Thank you to @TickPick for saving the day. They are sending our whole crew + a camera man to tomorrow’s Game 3. Did the Gullible Two just jinx the Sox? Time will tell. But one thing is for certain: @TickPick rocks and Cleveland now has life!!!
Here's the setup. The White Sox had just won the first 2 games of the ALDS in Cleveland, and Rate Field tickets were suddenly hard to find. Mintzy sent his train buddy $400. White Sox Dave and Tate held off for a day to see if the tickets showed up, and Dave said he'd pay Mintzy back if they didn't. Dave also wants it on the record that none of this happened to him.

@OhioTate @TickPick Woah woah woah disavow. I didn't get taken for anything. I just chose to believe in your cohost Mintzy.
Game 3 day was a full production. Tate's dad and Uncle Pat came to Chicago, the Tates went to Dave's house for breakfast, and Mintzy spent the afternoon riding toward the ballpark, still hoping his guy would come through. He didn't. Mintzy took the loss like a gambler.
Then Cleveland won Game 3, and Tate's Tuesday theory about the Gullible Two jinxing the Sox started to look less like a joke. Nobody is going to give $400 credit for a playoff game, but the Sox were up 2-0 before the money left Mintzy's account and they haven't won since.
By Thursday the payback had turned into something else. There were no tickets and no refund. Per Tate, the guy is now covering 3 nights in a hotel next weekend with a food credit. The Yak crew walked through it on air, and the room wasn't convinced.
“The guy never sent the tickets. The guy's not sending his money back, but he's now giving Mintzy a gambling trip.”
TickPick then sent the Cleveland and Chicago crew back for Game 4, with a twist: one extra seat. Mintzy was going, and he was going as a White Sox fan, which is exactly what White Sox Dave didn't want.
“Why is there eight tickets in my account instead of seven? Because we're adding Mintzy to your crew tonight.”
Mintzy got lost on the way to the tailgate, walked right past it once he found it, and then ran into Dave. According to the crew filming it, the reunion went about how you'd expect from a guy whose ticket plan had just cost his team a home crowd member.

It’s Chaos at Comiskey Whitesoxdave has freaked out on Mintzy “Mintzy, i’m not talking to you get the fuck out of here” - @barstoolWSD
Once the game started, the Sox led 4-3 in the 5th. Then Cleveland sent 10 batters to the plate in a 6-run 6th. With the game slipping away, the office tried a new angle on Mintzy: maybe he was the charm.
He was not the charm. By the top of the 8th, Mintzy was headed for the exit with an early flight to catch, and Cleveland won 9-5.

I have no idea what Mintzy said but he has an early flight and is heading home. Thank you @TickPick! “Yeah” - Uncle Pat
So the series is tied 2-2 and heads to Game 5 at Progressive Field on Saturday at 7 p.m. CT. The Sox have lost both games since the $400 went out, and Mintzy's only attempt at Rate Field ended in the 8th inning. He's probably better off at that hotel next weekend, if it exists. White Sox Dave will be watching for whatever Mintzy does Saturday night.
