Nicky Smokes mocks Mintzy as Florida routs Ole Miss

TLDR: No. 21 Florida ran over No. 4 Ole Miss 52-28 in the Swamp, Nicky Smokes spent the night rubbing it in on Rebels diehard Mintzy, and Big Cat sprinkled a 30-1 Florida title ticket.

Big Cat Leans Gators
Some background first. Florida hired Jon Sumrall away from Tulane on a 6-year, $44.7 million deal, and plenty of Gator fans were not thrilled about it at the time. The Gators were unranked in the preseason and picked 9th in the SEC. Ole Miss came to Gainesville at No. 4, a week after an emotional win over LSU, and Mintzy was fully in. The Barstool College Football Show saw a letdown spot coming, though, and Big Cat said so on air the day before.
Barstool Sports@barstoolsportstv“If I had to pick a side, I'd probably lean Florida because I do think the Swamp, this is gonna be a pretty special spot for Florida.” – Big Cat
Saturday went bad for Mintzy early, and not only the game. He busted out of a poker main event with queens against kings all in preflop, and by halftime the Rebels were down 17-6. He went to the camera anyway, beaten up but still believing.

He had the first-drive part right. It just went the wrong way for him.

The Swamp Answers Back
Ole Miss did come out of the locker room swinging and got it to 17-14 in the 3rd quarter, per the scoreboard in the clip below. Florida answered right away. A Gator ball carrier broke into the open field and ran untouched into the end zone, and that was when the Swamp took over. Florida put up 5 straight touchdown drives in the 2nd half.
Nicky Smokes had been yelling that Florida had the best backfield in the nation, and the box score backs him up. Jadan Baugh ran for 142 yards and 3 touchdowns, Duke Clark added 126 and a score, and the Gators finished with 302 rushing yards. At Nicky's bar, everyone was chomping.
Even Mintzy stopped to admire it. The fan base that hated the Sumrall hire had flipped on him in less than a month.
Mintzy@StoolMintzyNever seen a turnaround this fast from fans being irate about a coaching hire to where Gator fans are now on Sumrall. This only week 4
When the guy getting beaten is writing the other side's hype line, the game is over.

Mintzy Waves The White Flag
By the 4th quarter Mintzy only cared about getting the Rebels to the bye healthy. He wanted Trinidad Chambliss off the field, and Chambliss stayed on it.
Then Nicky did what anyone at Barstool would do and picked up the phone. Nobody's saying what was said on the call, but the tweet leaves little doubt about the mood.
Final: Florida 52, Ole Miss 28. That was Florida's 1st win over a top-5 team since 2020 and ended a 12-game losing streak against top-5 opponents. Mintzy's postgame verdict was blunt. Nobody wins giving up 300 rushing yards and 500 total, but he says the playoff run is still coming.
Mintzy@StoolMintzyFlorida 52 Ole Miss 28 FINAL I don’t care if Jesus Christ is playing QB you not gonna win allowing 300 rushing yards & 500 total. Bye next week time for Pete to get in lab to fix this. Playoff run still comin’…. #HottyToddy
For the record, he still had a profitable Saturday, thanks to LSU. It doesn't help much when Nicky sits 2 desks away on Monday.

The Sunday Victory Lap
Nicky woke up Sunday still in disbelief that Florida actually landed its coach, which is a shot at the fans who were ready to riot over the hire.
Big Cat, who leaned Florida before kickoff, went further than a lean. He admitted he put a little on the Gators to win the national title at 30-1, in the first half, before the 2nd-half blowout even started.
Big Cat@BarstoolBigCatFlorida very much back. And yes will work on that. May have sprinkled Florida Natty 30-1 in the first half yesterday
Florida is 4-0 for the first time since 2019 and has scored 52 or more 3 times in 4 games. Ole Miss gets a bye and a lot of film to watch. Now we wait to see whether Sumrall's Gators hold up through SEC play or Mintzy gets his revenge. Either way, Monday in the office will be loud.
