Hank Lockwood gets his Patriots victory lap on PMT

TLDR: Drake Maye threw for 374 yards and 4 touchdowns in a 45-17 rout of the Raiders, and Hank Lockwood opened Monday's Pardon My Take saying he'd been waiting 5 hours.
Start on Thursday, before kickoff. The Patriots were still a.500 team, and the PMT couch had a guy in a Patriots cap sitting on it with a drink.
Glenn Tape Watch is the show's film-study bit, run by PFT Commenter's Glenn Tape Scout character, and this season it has spent a lot of time on Drake Maye. Earlier in the year PMT was promoting a Glenn breakdown of a Maye interception. Then came Sunday, and the Patriots took the Raiders apart from start to finish. By the 3rd quarter the show's account was giving Glenn the credit.
To be clear, that's a bit. Nobody at Gillette is getting coached by Glenn. But Hank, the show's resident Patriots fan, wasn't going to let it go to waste, and about 40 minutes after that touchdown he was already looking ahead to this week's episode.
He has a point. Maye went 26-of-34 for 374 yards with 4 touchdown passes and ran for another, and he threw no picks. That's 8 total touchdowns over his last 2 games, after just 1 in his first 3. The week before, New England beat Buffalo.
It's a long way from late September, when Wake Up Barstool ran a 'Drake Maye Struggles' episode and Dave Portnoy was counting the Pats among the contenders sitting on 1 win. The team that went to the Super Bowl last year suddenly has its swagger back, and the Pats fans in the building have noticed.
The full episode is on Netflix. Over on Wake Up Barstool that same morning, Portnoy was calling in from home with a clip already loaded, and he skipped the victory lap and went straight to demanding apologies.

The Patriots are a real Super Bowl contender and all the Drake Maye deniers should be apologizing
Both teams leave the weekend at 3-2, so 'real Super Bowl contender' still needs a few more Sundays to back it up. Until then, Glenn Tape Watch has its easiest week of the year, and Hank finally has a reason to show up early.
