Marty goes full QB and Katic brings the college energy

Marty Vs has quietly become one of the more reliable swings on the Barstool YouTube channel, and the latest one might be the biggest leap yet. Marty isn't doing a bit on the sideline this time. He's lining up at quarterback against an actual D3 football program, full contact, with Michael Katic snapping him the ball.

TOMORROW 10am. best Marty vs I have done. Myself and @KaticMichael take on the best D3 team in football. I'm playing QB and it's full contact

The setup mattered because Marty has openly admitted he's never played the position. To get him even semi-functional, he leaned on Gruden for a crash course, which Marty himself flagged as the reason he might actually survive a snap. The hype heading into the 10am drop was not subtle.

20 minutes till this is out! This is by far my best one, I've never played QB and have never done one where I can get seriously injured. Shout out @IamPug_ he absolutely crushed this

Once it dropped, the office reaction told you everything. Gruden was posting about it, Dana Beers was shouting it out, and the clips coming out of the video featured most of the Barstool roster pitching in. But the moment that clearly hit Marty hardest wasn't his own. It was watching Katic, who actually played college ball, get back into a 1v1 rep for the first time in years.

Thank you guys for watching this video! I appreciate it so much but I got so jacked up to see @KaticMichael do his 1st 1v1 since college

That's the throughline. Marty Vs works because it's not just Marty embarrassing himself for content. It pulls coworkers into doing things they're actually good at, or at least used to be, and you get to watch a former college lineman remember he can still go. The QB-center bit between Marty and Katic is the joke. Katic punching someone in a 1v1 is the payoff.

My center @KaticMichael was not having it me being his QB. He's used to some better QBs behind him

If the goal was to get the Barstool YouTube channel pumping again, this is the kind of swing that does it. Real stakes, a guy who could actually get hurt, and a supporting cast that bought in. More of this, please.
