Barstool melts down over House of the Dragon's bloodiest night

TLDR: Ser Criston Cole is dead, the Gold Cloaks quit on Rhaenyra, and Barstool's dragon guys had to go live immediately.
House of the Dragon doesn't usually need a Barstool pipeline, but Season 3 Episode 6 earned one. "Faceless Men" delivered the Butcher's Ball, a battle so bloody it's basically become the show's answer to a Game 7, and by the next morning Robbie Fox and Clem had already broken the whole thing down.
The headline development: Ser Criston Cole, the show's most insufferable true believer, finally got his ending. After years of chasing glorified death ballads, Cole got ambushed by Riverlanders playing dead, surrounded by Roddy the Ruin's Winter Wolves, and shot down by archers before he could even get his heroic one-on-one duel. No song, no legend, just arrows. It's the kind of death that reframes an entire character arc in real time, and it's exactly the sort of gut-punch that sends people straight to Twitter.
Cole's death wasn't even the only crisis. Back in King's Landing, Rhaenyra's grip on the Iron Throne kept slipping — the City Watch resigned its Gold Cloaks en masse, Baratheon refused to send troops, and Daemon made things worse by publicly humiliating one of his own dragon riders. It's a full institutional collapse happening in the queen's own castle, which is exactly the kind of thing Barstool's House of the Dragon corner exists to roast.

City Watch turning in their Gold Cloaks like Rudy's teammates is nasty work. Smh. No faith in Daemon.
Clem piled on with the same energy, framing Rhaenyra getting outmaneuvered inside her own walls as a full-on home-court humiliation. Between the desertions, the failed alliances, and Daemon torching goodwill with his own allies, the queen's side of the war looks shakier than it has all season — and the fanbase noticed immediately.

None of this is subtle escalation — it's the kind of episode that swings the entire back half of the season. Cole was the Hand of the King and Rhaenyra's most dangerous field commander; losing him leaves a massive hole in the greens' war effort right as the Gold Cloaks are walking off the job for the other side. Add Daemon alienating a dragon rider and the throne's support crumbling from both directions at once, and it's easy to see why Barstool's dragon guys had lots to discuss the second the credits rolled.
With the Dance of the Dragons now missing one of its loudest voices and Rhaenyra's own city turning on her, the next episode has a lot of fallout to clean up. Expect Barstool's recap crew back live the second it drops.
