Green Greg's burrito world record bid becomes a Barstool Yak saga

TLDR: Green Greg tried to eat a burrito faster than anyone alive, and instead turned it into a multi-day Barstool bit with Big Cat sending him pep talks.
It started as a bit on The Yak and it will not die. TJ Hitchings summed up the show perfectly: you tune in for the inner-office rumor mill, you stay because Barstool's Green Greg is out there very slowly eating a burrito on camera.

The Yak is the only internet show where you can come for the inner office rumor mill breakdown, and stay for Barstool Green Greg very slowly eating a burrito.
The Guinness World Record for fastest burrito eaten is 30.75 seconds, set by competitive eater Leah Shutkever back in August. Green Greg decided he was going to take a swing at it on camera, and the first attempt did not go well. According to The Yak, what was supposed to be a 30-second job took him 9 minutes and 32 seconds instead.

Green Greg attempted to finish a burrito in 30 seconds to break the world record. It took him 9 minutes 32 seconds.
Barstool Sports posted the actual attempt, timer and all, with Green Greg standing outside a restaurant patio in a Royals shirt trying to wolf down a wrapped burrito while coughing into his hand. Big Cat's version of the same clip shows the on-screen stopwatch climbing to 34.65 seconds by the final frame -- already well past the record pace before the burrito was anywhere close to gone.
Rather than let it die after one bad run, the Yak turned it into a franchise. "Godfather Part II, Dark Knight, Empire Strikes Back, Greg vs. Burrito II," the account posted the next day, treating a guy failing to eat food quickly as a legitimate sequel-worthy sports moment. That's the bit: everyone involved knows it's ridiculous and is leaning all the way in.
By the following day, Big Cat had made it personal. He revealed on the show that he'd spent close to 20 minutes that morning just sending Green Greg motivational messages ahead of another go at the record -- treating a burrito rematch with the same energy as a pregame pep talk before a title fight.

“I did spend probably 20 minutes this morning just sending Greg motivational things” -Big Cat
There's no word yet on whether the second attempt got Green Greg anywhere near Shutkever's 30.75-second mark, but that's almost beside the point at this stage. The Yak has turned one guy's failed burrito run into a running bit with sequels, pep talks and its own mythology -- which, for a show built on inside-office chaos, is exactly the kind of thing that keeps people watching.
