Dana Beers tries fried cheesecake at Texas State Fair

TLDR: Dana Beers brought Dana Tries to the State Fair of Texas for a fried cheesecake taste test, while T-Bob and Nicky Smokes worked game day at Red River for DraftKings.
Barstool sent a crew to Dallas for Texas vs. Oklahoma, and the Fair Park midway got the first look. Before the football, there was fried dessert.
It's a sponsored DraftKings segment, tagged #DKPartner, so this isn't a hard-hitting food review. It's also about as State Fair as content gets. Fried versions of desserts that never needed frying are basically the fair's whole personality. Its concession stands compete every year for the Big Tex Choice Awards, an annual contest for new fried creations that has run since 2005. Dana got his start as a Pardon My Take intern and later produced Barstool's documentary series before moving on camera, and Dana Tries is the kind of low-stakes bit he does well: walk up, take a bite, react.
The trip had been on T-Bob's wish list for a while. On the Wake Up Barstool tailgate show on September 27, he was already picking Texas to beat Oklahoma "at the state fair in a couple of weeks" and openly hoping the company would send him.
“I'm really excited guys, fingers crossed I may get to go to that game for work, that would be a dream” – T-Bob
He got there, and he dressed the part. Nicky Smokes took him for a western-wear shopping trip on the morning of the game, and judging by the caption, the new outfit went over well.

The cowboy look then got its own sponsored spot on the fairgrounds. T-Bob did a full game-day walk-and-talk in front of the Ferris wheel.

Underneath all the DraftKings promos, the real event was the crowd. The Red River Rivalry has been played in Dallas during the State Fair for over a century, and this year's game was set for a 2:30 p.m. CT kickoff at the Cotton Bowl on ABC. A few hours before that, Nicky Smokes filmed a line of mostly burnt orange fans, with some crimson mixed in, that seemed to go on forever.
So the Barstool game-day trip had a little of everything: a fried cheesecake, a new outfit for T-Bob, a line Nicky Smokes says is the longest he's ever seen, and a lot of DraftKings tags. Since T-Bob called Texas weeks ago, Wake Up Barstool will get to grade that pick next week, and it'll be hard to skip the cowboy hat when they do.
