Clavicular's looksmaxxing sit-down with Pat and Kelly Keegs sparks backlash

TLDR: Kelly Keegs and Pat let Clavicular talk looksmaxxing and penis pumping on Out & About, and now they're explaining why they said yes.

Clavicular has spent 2026 turning "looksmaxxing" into a personal brand, and this week Barstool's Out & About pod became his latest stop. Pat and Kelly Keegs sat him down for a wide-ranging conversation, and fans immediately split into two camps: people who thought it was a great, chaotic listen, and people who were mad Barstool gave him a mic at all.

The backlash wasn't really about looksmaxxing as a concept — plenty of outlets have covered that grift for years. It was about who they were platforming. Clavicular, real name Braden Peters, built his following on extreme content: promoting steroid use, "bonesmashing" his own face, and telling Logan Paul on Impaulsive about a shopping-bag penis-stretching routine that left the hosts speechless. He's also the guy who walked off a 60 Minutes Australia interview this year rather than answer a question about incel culture, and was filmed singing along to an antisemitic Kanye West track alongside Andrew Tate and Nick Fuentes in January. That resume is exactly why critics said an Out & About sit-down normalizes him instead of challenging him.

Kelly Keegs didn't dodge the criticism — she got ahead of it.

We knew this would be a controversial interview to accept but, if you watch the first 5 mins or so we explain why we did! It was a very, very strange day t.co/dwKEoLuEQt

@kellykeegs Not a fan of giving these people the time of day and a bit disappointed you went with it, but at the same time I get that it's a content world. I'm completely skipping this one and looking forward to hopefully some better stuff coming up.

Her post the night the episode dropped acknowledged straight up that the sit-down was going to be "a controversial interview to accept," and pointed people to the first few minutes of the episode where she and Pat explain their reasoning on air rather than burying it. That's a notably direct response for a Barstool account catching heat — no deleting, no ignoring it, just an explanation up front that it was, in her words, "a very, very strange day."

Pat leaned into the chaos of the day with his own follow-up, framing part of the conversation as an inside joke for the people who'd actually watched rather than a headline in itself.

A gay interviewer confronts Clavicular over taking concepts associated with gay culture and popularizing them under the term “Looksmaxxing” 😳

None of this is new territory for Clavicular, who tends to leave a trail of controversy wherever he shows up next — Logan Paul, Michael Knowles, 60 Minutes, and now Barstool. What's different here is that the hosts didn't just air it and move on; they built the defense into the rollout itself. Whether that's enough to satisfy people who think he shouldn't be booked anywhere is another question, and it's one that'll follow Out & About into whatever Clavicular does next.
