Clay Holmes got bumped to the 60-day IL on Tuesday. Carlos Mendoza is essentially running a Triple-A lineup with the logo on the front.

The pitching plan tonight is unusual. Tobias Myers gets the ball with an 0-1 record and a 3.41 ERA, but he hasn't thrown more than 40 pitches in any 2026 appearance and has been capped under 25 pitches in his last five outings. Read that as a bullpen game with a bullpen game's name on the scorecard — David Peterson has piggybacked Myers earlier this month and that pattern is the obvious template.
Eury Perez goes for Miami at 2-6 with a 5.33 ERA, which is ugly on its face. The underlying stuff is not the problem — his average fastball is actually up to 98.2 mph from 97.8 last year — but his walk rate has ballooned to a career-worst 10.7%. When he throws strikes the Marlins win games. When he doesn't, you get the line he's currently carrying.
Pinnacle has the Mets at -118 on the moneyline with a total sitting at 7.5. That's a tight number for a game featuring a 5.33 ERA starter facing a lineup missing its best four hitters, and the under-100 juice tells you the market sees the offensive question marks too. Both bullpens are going to do real work tonight.
