Cantillo got the ball for Cleveland looking to finish off the sweep, drawing Tyler Phillips, who's building a real case for a rotation spot after his conversion from the bullpen. First pitch went at 1:40 PM ET, and by the final out, the Guardians had banked their 4th straight win.

Cleveland completed the sweep 5-2, so the home moneyline pick missed as the shorthanded Marlins bullpen bear came to life.

Pregame

Miami closed as basically a coin-flip price at home, leaning on Tyler Phillips' scoreless effort against Seattle in his last time out. Cleveland was the better team on paper and in recent form, but the number made backing the Marlins at plus money the value play going in.

Phillips needed to be sharp with Miami's bullpen already stretched thin -- Anthony Bender, John King, William Kempner, Andrew Nardi and Josh Ekness are all currently on the injured list, leaving manager Clayton McCullough with a shorter bridge to the ninth than he'd like. Cleveland is still without Jose Ramirez and Angel Martinez, but that lineup hasn't missed a beat during the win streak.

None of that stopped Miami from drawing a live price at home off Phillips' scoreless outing against Seattle, even with Cleveland clearly the hotter club walking in. The market treated this finale as a coin flip right up to first pitch.

Those trends played out almost exactly to form. Cleveland jumped ahead with 2 runs in the top of the first, then tacked on single runs in the 5th, 7th and 9th to pull away for good.

Miami's only offense came on a 3rd-inning run and a garbage-time run in the 9th, while an error in the field didn't do the Marlins any favors either. Cleveland out-hit Miami 11 to 8 and never really let this one feel close.

The sweep snaps Miami's first home series loss since May 18-21 -- a genuinely alarming turn for a club that still holds the NL's third wild-card spot but now has to answer for a bullpen bleeding arms by the week. Cleveland, meanwhile, keeps rolling with a rotation and lineup that are covering for two key absences without blinking.
