The Brewers' pitching room is a hospital wing. Brandon Woodruff is still building back up, Logan Henderson just got an injection in his back, Quinn Priester's rehab assignment moved to the complex league, and Thursday alone they pulled DL Hall (left pec discomfort) and Grant Anderson (forearm, X-rays negative) mid-game. Sproat is making this start in part because there's nobody else lined up — and per Heavy, Murphy has already publicly sent a message to him about his command. The leash can't be much longer.
Colorado is 24-39 and just got smoked 11-4 by the Angels, but Feltner is the rare healthy and trending-up arm on a staff that lost Jose Quintana to a 60-day IL stint and Chase Dollander to a 2-to-3 week shutdown. Kris Bryant remains parked on the 60-day IL with the back issue that won't go away. Brenton Doyle, Jordan Beck, and Mickey Moniak are all on the 10-day. This is essentially the Rockies' B lineup catching a Brewers pitcher making his first ever start against them.

The market has Milwaukee at -151 with a total of 11.5, which feels about right for Coors with a 6.24 ERA starter on the road. Feltner's last start was vintage strike-throwing — 4 hits, 0 walks, 63 pitches through 6 — but he's only fanned 19 in 26 innings on the year, so the Brewers shouldn't have trouble putting bats on ball. Whether anything they hit stays in the yard is the question, and at this altitude the answer is usually yes.
