Good Night John Boy has turned into one of Barstool's more unexpected hospitality hits, and the bar chain's Gong Show Karaoke Night is quickly becoming its signature bit. The format is simple and a little brutal: performers pre-register, a panel judges every song, and anyone who bombs risks getting gonged off stage before they finish. Win the night and you walk away with real cash.

Last night was a tough one, but I did get to judge an amazing “Gong Show” Karaoke contest at our St. Pete John Boy location. And we’re running it back tonight at our Delray location. https://t.co/8jsr0opXs1
Dante The Don, who works as a marketing and entertainment partner across the Good Night John Boy bar network, posted that St. Pete's edition of the contest happened the same night the crew was set to run it back at the Delray Beach location. That's not a one-off — the Delray bar hosted the very first Gong Show Karaoke Night back in June with a $500 grand prize, and it's clearly become a recurring bit the brand keeps rolling out city to city.
Then came the real news. Less than an hour after posting the St. Pete recap, Dante turned his attention north and declared enough was enough — Chicago is getting its own Gong Show Karaoke event this fall. He tagged @johnboychi directly, pointing at the Good Night John Boy location that's already open and running on Randolph Street in the West Loop.

Can’t believe we haven’t done one of these in Chicago yet. Enough is enough, doing it this fall @johnboychi https://t.co/W6jgtYROxR
The replies didn't waste any time. Kelly Keegs jumped straight into the thread saying she's booking a flight for it, and Dante fired back that she'll be the first to know once an actual date gets locked in. No date yet means no confirmed night to circle on the calendar, but the intent is out there in writing now, tag and all.
Given how fast the Delray and St. Pete versions have caught on, it's easy to see why Chicago fans are already treating this as a lock rather than a maybe. Good Night John Boy has built a whole identity around its 70s theme and rowdy live events, and a Gong Show night in a market as big as Chicago figures to be the loudest one yet once Dante actually nails down when it's happening.
