Telluride Bush signs Aspekt for Black Ops 7

TLDR: Telluride Bush Gaming signed British Call of Duty player Aspekt for Black Ops 7 on Sunday night, and GM Jersey Jerry calls the deal with OMiT a snap buy.

Telluride Bush made the move official late Sunday night, and the trophy case Aspekt brings with him explains why the Bush rushed it.

That's a real résumé. This BO7 season Aspekt won the Major IV Open and the Challengers Finals and took 2 EU Challengers Elite titles, and his K/Ds are above 1.0 in Hardpoint, Search and Overload. He played most of the year with OMiT, and that Challengers Finals win was OMiT's. In a scene where the Challengers pool is full of guys waiting on the next offer, the Bush went and got a proven winner instead of a project.

On Monday the team brought him straight onto Owner's Meeting 56, which premiered that evening, and the episode explained how the deal came together. It doesn't sound like a long courtship.

So Jerry saw a player he wanted, made the deal with Rafi, and told everybody else later. That last part isn't a bit, either. Jace confirmed later that night that the rest of the operation found out at the same time as everyone else.

It's a good look for a GM who has mostly been a running joke. Nobody leaked it, nobody drew it out, and the Bush now has a guy who has actually won things this season. Credit to Rafi as well. Getting paid for your best player beats losing him for nothing.

By Wednesday the Bush were still cutting clips out of the episode, and the best one is Aspekt summing himself up in 1 line.

That's the right energy for a team whose whole brand is not taking itself seriously. Now the job is to turn a snap buy into wins. Aspekt has already won events in this game, and the next Bush scrims and online events will show whether he can raise the rest of the roster to his level. If he can, every Challengers player who sat out waiting on a better offer will have watched it happen.
